DIY Target Retrieval System
I show you how I made my target retriever from a child's bicycle.
Basically you disassemble the bike, remove the tires, convert the coaster brake hub to a fixed gear then mount the frame on one 4x4 post and the fork on another. Connect them with paracord while inserting a target sled on the bottom line of the paracord. drive it with the pedals or add a drive point to use a drill.

Convert a Coaster Brake To A Fixed Gear
Просмотров 8364 месяца назад
Easily convert a coaster brake hub to a fixed gear hub. Why would you want to do this? With this conversion you can use the wheel in both directions. For me it was to create a target retrieval system. I would not recommend this conversion for a hard ridden bicycle. For that I would recommend using a fixed gear hub. But for projects this should work just fine. There is also an opportunity here f...

Clean and Reclaim Your Blast Media

Here is a simple yet very effective way to preserve the use of your blast media by cleaning it. Blasted paint can become dust, and combined with your media can make for a very dirty blasting experience. An easy way to remove most of this dust is to incorporate a fan while pouring from one container to the other. Finer blast media require more precise work to get it clean but the large media sho...
Chevy 2500HD Carrier Bearing Replacement

Fabbing up a CB antenna mount for a Jeep CJ7 using the existing spare tire bump stop. I used 1/8" bar stock cut to the shape of the bump stop. I then cut a 1/2" hole and welded the plate to the top. Remember that your antenna will use this to ground so you need to clear to bare metal sections of the mount attaching bolts along with corresponding areas...

I use a forked stick from a young tree no more than 5 mm thin and hold the ends of the fork stick so the join is level with the ground and hold the ends out at like you hold a broom in your hands and the forked end will go up for salt water and down for fresh water and it is hard to explain

I remember, when I was around 14 years old, around 1979, I heard about that and I tried that out and it worked. They would cross over water. It was pretty kewl. I often wondered if it has to do with the Earth's magnetic field being effected by water and thus also effecting the metal? Who knows, but it definitely works. You might want to grab a piece of foam from somewhere and tape it over your camera's microphone to get rid of the wind noise.

If you still have the truck, I'd check your driveshaft geometry. That doesn't sound good that it dies quickly. See if the rear end isn't cocked to one side or like the engine and transmission are straight. Also if the driveshaft isn't bent, that one would seem more obvious because it probably shake the truck apart. Also the drive shaft angles too, your ujoints would probably cack it after that too and also shake the truck too. Just ideas.

When I was an Elec Eng student 45 years ago, I worked for a power company for several semesters. I went out to a rural field with an old timer in the planning department to figure out where we would run a new underground service. He pulled out his dousing rods to locate the existing underground water and gas lines across this whole field. I thought he was bull5hitting me until I tried it. It absolutely works to locate buried lines (gas, electric, water). I think it's because of the "lines of flux" produced by the conduit/pipe. I used these rods many times in that job and they were always accurate. It is not supernatural, just natural science in my opinion. Whether this works for finding water or metals, I don't know, but I do know enough not to doubt the possibility.

dowsing involves the ideomotor phenomenon where one makes unconscious movements. people are guessing and it comes out as magic. How confident are you there is magic? How confident are you that two sticks or rods of any type will detect water. You're being rain made at worst.

I used to think dowsing was total nonsense. I got a job doing sitework in my 20's and the foreman started doing this looking for a water line. I chalked it up to him reading blueprints beforehand and knowing about where it was. Well, I was proven wrong. He told me how to hold them and sure enough, I could find the same exact straight line with them that he was finding. I never doubted it again. Still I have no idea how it works but I now for a fact that it does (at least with certain metal wires).
